Top Email Archiving Provider LiveOffice Reports Record Q4 Results
Support for All Major Cloud Email Providers and New Product Enhancements Drive Email Archiving Client Base to Over 10,000
TORRANCE, Calif., January 26, 2010 – LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) email archiving, email compliance and email continuity solutions, today reported record-setting revenues for the fourth quarter of 2009. The quarter’s top highlights included enhanced archiving support for each of the major cloud email providers, a rapidly growing partner channel and several large client wins.
“Our success in the fourth quarter is a testament to more and more organizations moving their email into the cloud. By deploying LiveOffice’s independent email archive, organizations are able to safely take a first step into the cloud without all of the risks traditionally associated with major IT migrations,” said Nick Mehta, CEO of LiveOffice. “We are absolutely committed to ensuring that our 10,000 clients are able to leverage the cloud to satisfy their email needs with partners like Microsoft, Cisco, Google, Intermedia, Apptix and others.”
Fourth-quarter highlights include:
Enhanced LiveOffice CloudMerge platform: CloudMerge offers a secure, open and complete archiving platform that is compatible with each of the major cloud email providers. It also seamlessly integrates with on-premise email solutions, making it the first email archiving solution to work seamlessly with all different types of email platforms. In addition, LiveOffice’s secure cloud archive acts as an insurance policy for any email environment by ensuring 24-7-365 availability of mission-critical email with built-in email continuity. CloudMerge supports the following cloud email solutions, among others: 123Together, AppRiver, Apptix, Azaleos, Cisco WebEx Mail, Google Apps (Premier), Intermedia, Microsoft Exchange Online, PanTerra Networks, USA.NET and VMware Zimbra (as well as all major on-premise messaging servers). In addition, the platform supports any email solution leveraging the POP or IMAP protocols, including personal email accounts, such as Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Windows Live Hotmail.
LiveOffice Personal Archive and LiveOffice Discovery Archive for BlackBerry®: LiveOffice provides mobile warriors with on-the-go access to their email archives, even when their primary mail server is unavailable. The first-of-its-kind BlackBerry app lets users access and search an unlimited number of archived emails and attachments. It also includes archiving support for call log files as well as SMS and PIN-to-PIN messages. In addition, the app allows for each of these archived components to be quickly retrieved for legal discovery requests or internal investigations, all directly from their BlackBerry.
IP restriction feature: This new feature adds a higher level of protection for clients’ archived messages. With this extra layer of protection, administrators can identify single IP addresses, or even an IP range, as trusted or untrusted – guaranteeing that only authorized users have access to the archive. Access restrictions are easily created via LiveOffice’s powerful Administrator Console.
Policy-based encryption: With this service, clients are able to encrypt messages in transit based on pre-set policies, ensuring that sensitive information is not intercepted and misused.
Expanded partner roster: The record fourth quarter was also highlighted by the continued expansion of LiveOffice’s Partner Program. The company added key managed service providers (MSPs), value-added resellers (VARs) and global system integrators (GSIs) to its already expansive partner roster. This growth had a significant impact on revenue generated throughout the quarter.
Large client wins: LiveOffice closed several large deals with multi-thousand employee enterprises. These organizations deployed LiveOffice’s archiving solutions to meet regulatory requirements while also satisfying their mailbox management and legal discovery needs. In addition, the company saw an increased interest in LiveOffice Personal Archive. This service enables end users to quickly search for and retrieve permanently deleted messages, directly from their Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes email client.
Industry recognition: LiveOffice recently earned a top spot on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™, a ranking of the 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. LiveOffice’s ranking was based on its 222-percent increase in fiscal-year revenue growth during the five-year period from 2004–2008.

Email Archiving Provider LiveOffice Extends Hosted Information Preservation Capabilities
Partnership Makes LiveOffice First to Offer Automated Legal Hold Notification
NEW YORK, February 1, 2010 – Today at LegalTech, LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) email archiving, email compliance and email continuity solutions, announced that it has partnered with Zapproved Inc., a SaaS provider with a platform that adds accountability to business communications, to offer hosted legal workflow in tandem with LiveOffice Discovery Archive. This partnership puts critical information preservation capabilities at the fingertips of legal and technology professionals, without requiring them to deploy or invest in any on-premise hardware or software.
According to Enterprise Strategy Group research, email is the most frequently requested form of electronically stored information. “Identifying relevant e-mails is no longer enough,” said Brian Babineau, senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. “Corporations must preserve messages and attachments – a task that requires the legal department to notify employees that the data is being placed on legal hold and the IT department to configure systems to prevent the modification and deletion of the specified content. With this partnership, LiveOffice and Zapproved automate both aspects of the legal hold workflow, reducing the burden on internal resources who typically manually manage the entire data preservation process.”
How it Works
Utilizing Zapproved’s Legal Hold Pro, the first pure cloud-based system for managing custodian and compliance notifications for legal holds, LiveOffice simplifies the management of legal hold notifications and the resulting compliance process requirements. This on-demand service streamlines the practice of issuing legal holds, helping to reduce exposure via an automated and defensible process. Once the legal hold notification is in place, administrators can immediately issue a legal hold within LiveOffice Discovery Archive, an e-discovery solution delivered via the software-as-a-service model that significantly reduces the time it takes to respond to legal discovery requests for emails, ensuring that all messages and attachments are preserved and not destroyed according to the organization’s regular disposition policy.
Using Legal Hold Pro, Discovery Archive clients can:
Start a legal hold: The convenient online form lets the designated administrator initiate a hold. All custodians receive the form and all observers are copied on the form. The administrator can also paste the contents of the legal hold notice into the form and attach any relevant documents. In addition, they can enter the pertinent matter name and set a due date for custodians to respond.
Notify custodians: Each custodian receives a formatted email telling them action is required. By clicking on the embedded “I Accept” or “Contact Me” buttons, custodians acknowledge receipt of the legal hold. Legal Hold Pro sends automatic notices as the due date approaches for custodians that still need to respond, with the option to send manual reminders as needed.
Manage compliance: The Legal Hold Center displays the current status of all active legal holds. The system tracks interactions with custodians by keeping detailed records of conversations and allows the administrator to track custodial interviews by adding notes at anytime.
Reissue the legal hold: Administrators can quickly and easily send periodic reminders with just a few clicks of their mouse. In addition, they can update a legal hold in seconds by opening an existing hold, editing the information as needed and re-sending – knowing that all versions will be tracked by the system.
Produce an audit trail: With all the legal hold information saved, an audit trail can be rapidly prepared as a printed document or forwarded in an email. When the legal hold is no longer necessary, the record will be archived securely by Legal Hold Pro and LiveOffice.

LiveOffice and Intermedia Announce First Integrated Solution for Cloud-Based Email Archiving with Hosted Microsoft Exchange 2010
LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK, January 13, 2010 – LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) email archiving and email continuity solutions, and Intermedia, the world’s largest Microsoft Exchange hosting provider, today announced that together they are the first to offer fully integrated, cloud-based email archiving with hosted Exchange 2010. Intermedia is the first company to offer hosted Exchange 2010 and LiveOffice is the first to announce archiving support for Exchange 2010. This joint offering is the first to give hosted Exchange 2010 users the ability to perform self-service restores on previously deleted items and conduct lightning-fast searches of archived messages directly from Outlook. In addition, LiveOffice’s centralized and secure online repository enhances customers’ ability to quickly and easily meet legal discovery and regulatory compliance requirements.
“Just a few years ago, it would have been unthinkable to get this level of enterprise technology delivered in a software-as-a-service model that works for small, medium and large companies alike,” noted Michael Osterman, principal analyst at Osterman Research. “Together, LiveOffice and Intermedia are changing the way people think about their corporate email and making the hosted model extremely attractive. Customers maintain control while completely offloading the security and administrative headaches common with on-premise email deployments. It’s a win-win – companies get access to the latest technologies available and free up internal IT resources to focus on other important business initiatives.”
LiveOffice is the top provider of hosted email archiving services with more than 9,000 clients, while Intermedia operates the world’s largest hosted Exchange service, hosting more than 225,000 premium Microsoft Exchange mailboxes. In combination with Intermedia’s hosted Exchange 2010, LiveOffice offers:
Outlook integration: End users can access LiveOffice Personal Archive from a web-based folder available via Outlook, allowing them to rapidly search, view and restore their historical emails and attachments from their archives, even if they already permanently deleted them from their Exchange mailboxes.
Secure repository with lightning-fast search: LiveOffice offers an independent, third-party cloud-based archive, where all messages are stored in multiple, geographically dispersed SAS-70 Type II, Tier-4 data centers. With all messages users have sent and received—even those already deleted from their Exchange mailboxes—safely stored and indexed in their archive, customers can instantly enforce email preservation for lawsuits/legal holds and protect attorney-client privileged communications from further review. LiveOffice’s real-time search and retrieval functionality helps customers significantly reduce the time it takes to respond to e-discovery and audit requests, maximizing resources and improving overall efficiency.
Free archive migration tools: With LiveOffice CloudMerge automated migration tools, customers can easily and securely migrate their legacy email data (messages and attachments) from their current archiving solution to LiveOffice’s hosted archive and have it fully accessible via Outlook—without business disruption. These tools can ingest data from on-premise email stores, other hosted email stores, legacy email archives and personal archives (PST/NSF files).
“We are excited to be working with an organization of Intermedia’s caliber and for the opportunity to extend the reach of our archiving services to a new client base,” said Jim O’Hara, vice president, sales and business development for LiveOffice. “Our archiving support for Exchange 2010 coupled with Intermedia’s hosted Exchange puts a powerful toolset at the fingertips of businesses that want the latest technology without dealing with lengthy deployment times or large data center build outs.”
“We are pleased to work with a top archiving provider like LiveOffice to offer customers increased levels of technology and service,” says Bob Leibholz, vice president of sales and business development, Intermedia. “The combination of our hosted Exchange 2010 and the archiving features from LiveOffice are critical for businesses of all sizes.”
In addition to the new features Microsoft has included in Exchange 2010, Intermedia’s hosted Exchange 2010 service offers:
Super premium infrastructure, spanning four data centers, to protect email and speed routing: Customers are able to select the data center of their choice – each with multiple Tier-1 Internet provider connections and hardware from Cisco, Dell and EMC – to ensure the fastest round trip for their email. Email records are mirrored in near real-time across data centers, assuring data protection and email reliability even in the event of a disaster. Intermedia’s hosted Exchange 2010 includes the industry’s first 100 percent Data Protection Guarantee as well as a 99.999 percent uptime guarantee.
Free full-service migration: Using proprietary migration tools, Intermedia is capable of migrating customers to hosted Exchange 2010 from their current email systems, often Exchange 2003 or 2000, Lotus Notes or POP/IMAP. Customers’ accounts can instantly be setup, enabling them to immediately begin using the service.
Control of the Exchange environment: Unique in an industry that relies on generic third-party control panels, Intermedia’s HostPilot® Control Panel was designed for small- and medium-sized businesses. It enables business owners and IT managers to delegate complex Exchange administration – such as deleting data from a lost BlackBerry Wireless Handheld™ – to non-technical staff.
Support with an average hold time of less than one minute: Support is available by phone and email, 24 hours a day. Intermedia support representatives are certified by Microsoft® and RIM®.
